WHERE SHEEP'S WHITE CLASHES WITH SAND'S BLACK AND LUPINES' PURPLE
2024 - 2025
This series is a reinterpretation of the landscapes and elements I encountered during a stay in Iceland. Through the use of local materials—sheep’s wool and sand—I recreate textures and forms that evoke what I observed and felt: volcanoes, icebergs, lupines in the meadows, rain, endless horizons, and the sheep, silent guardians of these lands. These landscapes, reinvented and transformed by the memories and sensations they left in me, act as a tactile and sensory album of memories. Each piece reconnects with a nature that is both raw and poetic. The wool, soft and organic, and the sand, rough and mineral, become mediators between humans and the environment. By exploring the intricacies of textile art, I weave a thread between past and present, between humanity and nature. My work questions our relationship with materiality and sustainability, while highlighting an animistic connection where every element is vital and respected.
